Workshop 2000 Application

[Duncan Hall]

Do not sign up!

We have not yet updated this form for the Summer 2001 workshops. If you are interested in them, please send email to the address at the bottom of this page, and we will contact you as soon as the sign-up form is ready for use.

Note that this form is not for the Java workshops. Those are open only to teachers who have already taught our curriculum. We will contact those teachers directly with separate instructions. Please do not use this form to sign up for the Java workshops.

Workshop Information

For answers to all these questions, please see the workshops' home page. You should read that page before you fill out this form.

Curricular Freedom

Please discuss the workshop and the possibility of implementing this new curriculum with the appropriate administrators before you sign up for the workshop. To complete your application, we ask that you obtain a letter from them stating that they will support you if you choose to implement any curricular innovations you decide to adopt from our workshop. Note: This does not place you under obligation to implement any of our material. That choice is entirely yours. It only ensures that if you do decide to implement any part of it, you will have the necessary support to do so. You may wish to read the short essays on the materials page before you approach your administrators. (In a few very special cases, such as college faculty who have already taught some of our material, we can offer a waiver. If you believe you warrant a waiver, please contact us by email at plt-outreach@cs.rice.edu before filling out this application form.)

Please confirm that you have discussed this idea with your administrator and have their support:   I have   I have not

Please arrange for your administrator to fax us a letter confirming the above to the number +1 713-348-5930, attention Jamie Raymond, PLT Outreach Coordinator. If your administrator cannot fax the letter, contact us at plt-outreach@cs.rice.edu for the postal address. We will consider your application incomplete until we receive this letter. You are responsible for making sure we receive this letter in a timely manner.
