The file you have downloaded is called plt.68k-mac.sit.bin or plt.ppc-mac.sit.bin, depending on
whether your machine is a 680x0 (68k) machine or a
PowerPC (ppc) machine.
Use Unstuffit or Stuffit Expander to unpack plt.68k-mac.sit.bin or plt.ppc-mac.sit.bin. The entire
PLT distribution will be in a new plt folder.
At this point, DrScheme can be run by double-clicking on the
DrScheme application. However, DrScheme will start up
faster if you first create special .zo files. This takes
a few minutes and requires an extra 5MB of disk space, but it is
worthwhile in the long run. To create the .zo files,
double-click on the Setup PLT application.
After installation, more information is available by running the
Help Desk application.
