The online documentation can be viewed directly. Archived documentation is available for downloading in three different formats using a variety of compression utilities.

(The platform annotations below are simply suggestions. They identify which formats are most likely to be useful on certain platforms.)

HTML

Each document is available as a collection of HTML files in a directory. For example, "mrspidey/mrspidey.html" (Unix/Windows) or ":mrspidey:mrspidey.html" (Macintosh) is the starting page of the MrSpidey document. The HTML files can be viewed with any HTML browser, such as Netscape. (In Netscape, "Open File..." browses an HTML file that is stored on your local filesystem.)

The archive comes with a top-level "index.html" and "icons" directory that is the same for all PLT HTML documentation archives. When all PLT HTML archives are unpacked to the same destination directory, the complete PLT documentation is in place.

PostScript

Each document is available as a PostScript file. The PostScript files can be printed to any PostScript printer or viewed with a PostScript previewing utility (such as ghostview).

The documentation is typeset for double-sided printing, but the files do not contain PostScript directives to enable double-sided printing.

DVI

Each document is available as a DVI file (generated by LaTeX). The DVI files can be viewed or printed with DVI utilities such as xdvi or dvips.

The documentation is typeset for double-sided printing.
