AP & IB Credit
We give 3 and 6 hours of COMP 211 credit for
Computer Science AP A and AB exams, respectively.
To get credit, a student must receive an AP exam score of 4 or 5,
or corresponding International Baccalaureate (IB) scores of 6 or 7.
- Counts towards university's required hours for graduation.
- Counts towards Group III distribution.
- Does not count towards CS major.
- Does not exempt any CS degree requiremens.
AP guidelines don't allow much freedom in how a course is taught,
and we have some different, and better, ideas about how to teach
computer science. If you skipped our introductory courses,
you'd be at a disadvantage in later classes. Sorry.
You may use Calculus and Physics AP or IB credit towards the appropriate
degree requirements.
