Computer Science at Rice
Thank you for your interest in computer science at Rice, where we offer Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts degrees in computer science. Our students graduate with the skills they’ll need, not just to keep up with the latest technologies in the field, but to be effective
leaders, life-long learners, and the creators of new technologies that change people’s lives.
The department has a lively community, including weekly lunch and learn sessions which bring speakers including alumni, experts from industry, and faculty to educate CS students about internships, careers, and life after CS. Undergraduates in computer science at Rice have established two clubs central to life in the department, the Computer Science Club and the CSters, and participate in other clubs and teams. The Rice Center for Engineering Leadership is a great resource for engineering students who want to develop their leadership abilities. Through special events, internships, and a certificate program, RCEL strives to educate and develop “Rice engineers to become inspiring leaders, exceptional team members,
effective communicators, and bold entrepreneurs.”
