Summary

We propose to develop information technology for processing time-varying
CT scans (4D CT) of the lungs. In particular, we propose to develop
tools for estimating the ventilation (air flow) and perfusion (blood
flow) from 4D CT and apply these tools to quantitatively assess the
effectiveness of current treatments for lung cancer.
