Mode Scheduling for low power Ad Hoc Networks
Overview
In a mobile wireless network,
a transceiver has 4 states: Promiscuous receive mode, Non-Promiscuous
receive mode, Idle Mode and Sleep mode. There is significant difference
between these modes in terms of power consumption. This work focuses on
scheduling transitions between the different power-modes. The
transitions are scheduled probabilistically using the Birthday Paradox
to save energy.
