A minor foray into handcrafted pure-text slogans...

Unforch the last two banners below are no longer true, thanks to MS FrontPage sillinesses.. (FrontPage was experimented with in the spirit of man being a tool-user. It rocks, and was stuck to.) Obligatory wistful reference to Linus's quote about the times when men were men and wrote their own device drivers.. and their own HTML too, maybe?

You sensibly ignored the above if you're a non-geek. Excellent, you missed nothing.

Cool photos / links that I've variously stumbled on.

  1. On the apity of W
  2. "Don't blame me, I didn't vote for his father either!"
  3. Humorous real quotes
  4. IT in Bangalore
  5. A marvellously funny collection

(the next two shamelessly flicked from Baditya's page (hi!)).

  6. Identify these actors/actresses in child format:
    [#1] [#2] [#3] [#4]
Answers, but take a shot at it first!
    [#1] [#2] [#3] [#4]
  7. Not my job
  8. Optical illusion: diamonds marked 1 and 2 are of the same brightness. If you're not convinced, then load it in some BMP editor (e.g., paintbrush), cut one of the "lighter" diamonds, and move it gradually up to a "darker" one: it progressively and very conspicuously gets darker! I was very impressed.
  9. Another nice optical illusion
  10. Illusions based on color confusions
  11. Brilliant colour photography from a century ago
  12. The country of Texas (from Banga's page)
  13. Kids these days..
  14. Some nice cats. Catloveritude's a precondition.
  15. High speed photograpy. (off /.)
  16. Chemlab-of-yore nostalgia. I saw the NO2_aniline photo, and golly, I could distinctly smell it right then. (off /.)
  17. Monkeyhead (kinda cute) and Tonguemonster (kinda gross)

Select photographs of India, Bombay, IIT, etc.

*Some brilliant and acutely nostalgic snapshots of IITB (catch that sunset!), Bombay (oh to be in..), Kerala (wow!), and the Himalayas on Mosh's website. Thanks, Mosh.
*Another stupendous snapshot of daily Bombay life (case in point), from Cris Pedregal Martin's collection of fascinating photographs.
*More Bombay and even more Bombay (e.g., V.T. station). Nice panoramics and some touristy photographs.
