IMPORTANT: DrScheme provides several language levels that
customize DrScheme for different levels of learning. Initially, set
DrScheme's language to Beginner. You must do this
manually, because Beginner is not the default language
when you install DrScheme:
- Select Configure Language... from the
Languages menu. A dialog box appears with a choice
control (a.k.a. ``pop-up menu'') at the top.
- Choose the Beginner langauge from the choice control
and click on OK.
- Click the Execute button. After clicking
Execute the lower window indicates that the current
language is Beginner.
You need to set the language level to Beginner only once
after DrScheme is installed. When you quit and restart DrScheme, the
langauge setting is preserved.
The Beginner language level is used for Parts I and II. For
the Intermezzos or for Part III, switch to
Intermediate. Finally, starting with Part VI, use
Advanced.
See Preparing DrScheme Jr for information on
setting the language level in DrScheme Jr.
