My New Yard, June 2001

The landscaping that came with my house when I got it was pretty spartan. I'd let it go for a year, and I did have some pretty weeds, but it was time to fix it up.
In the process of digging up my front yard, they discovered why grass would never grow on the right side.

My landscaping, done by Big Thicket Design, is pretty damn cool. In front, I've got a nifty flagstone patio, along with a nifty sidewalk and a paving stone parking pad for my trash can.

In back, I have some pretty pots holding small lemon and lime trees. The rear patio will eventually have a nice cafe table and vines covering that big trellis. My useless rear side yard is now graveled in with some shrubs and a cypress tree in the back. Plus, I've now got a nifty rain-sensing sprinkler system to keep all my plants, including the pots, from burning up in the summer.
