Northern California, Summer 1997

I spent another great summer in the San Francisco Bay Area working for Netscape and tooling around the great outdoors. Try to do all this in New Jersey.

Stinson Beach and hiking above it with Sarah Torpey and the rest of the Berkeley (ex-Princeton) gang.

My good friend Mark Maxham took me flying over the Bay. The airstrip is conveniently a few minutes from his office.

Krystyna Miguel and I went to the SF Pride Parade. Remember: Beige is Beautiful, and Xena Loves Gabrielle. Quiz tomorrow.

With my friend Eugene Miya, an avid hiker and climber, Brad Porter and I went on a number of weekend trips. When the bugs weren't eating us alive, we hiked up Goosenest Crater (and swam in nearby Lake Shasta). I also did my first-ever outdoor rock climbing at School Rock in Donner Pass. I'm not dead yet!

Ross Fubini organized the scariest intern beer bust, yet. A drag show. Fear not, Debbie Freeman got the whole thing on film.

Jim Roskind, the zen master of Netscape, shows a group of disciples the path toward enlightenment.
At the Netscape Communicator shipping party, on the Santa Cruz boardwalk, Bob Relyea and I went nuts on the Big Dipper, a classic wooden roller-coaster.
