Our Garden, April 2003

other photos
About two years ago, I set out to make my yard look pretty, and was pretty happy with the results. Unfortunately, my original yard guy decided to move to Austin. After hunting around, I've now hired Martin Johnson from "The Gardens on Woodhead Landscaping". We kept all the original patio stones and such, only adding shiny new plants.

Snapdragons

Zinnias

Chrysanthemums

Petunias

Spiderwort (this one blew in two years ago as a weed, and I decided to keep it)

Small sunflowers

Various lettuce

Colorful stuff

Even more colorful stuff

Leaves coming out on my "false" Cypress tree (it looks like an evergreen, but it looses its leaves every year)

In the drainage ditch out front, among other things, we planted all kinds of irises. Wow.

My original lemon and lime trees are flowering as well, and attracting lots of bees.

While macro photographs can sometimes be breathtaking, it's also cool to see how things have evolved in the past two years. Compare these shots to the old ones and check out how, for example, the false Cypress has grown.
